Team Leader
Lead the session and capstone project planning with the other mentors.
Schedule and confirm mentors to participate in each session & activity in advance.
Participate in sessions on a regular basis.
Plan/coordinate site visit activities with the mentors & committee members.
Mentor
Participate in sessions on a regular basis.
Participate in the session and capstone project planning.
Engage with and help students in the activities, group projects, and with any questions.
Mentors may be speakers and may be helping run activities if needed.
Speaker
Prepping presentations/lectures for the sessions.
In-person presentations and coordinating with other mentors on timing.
Session Facilitator
The session facilitator will ensure that the session runs smoothly, and attendance is taken.
Ensuring supplies for the current sessions are available.
Coordinating snacks & food.
Ensuring that the speakers & activities are run on time.
Coordinating photography.
Creating session summaries.
Mentor Committee Member
Organization of site visits.
Organization of final presentation night.
Outreach for guest speakers if needed.
Maintaining the Google Classroom for the program session.
Mentor Committee Chair (currently filled)
Perform outreach and planning activities.
Overseeing the program execution.
Coordinating the program budget with the finance committee.
Attend monthly meetings.
Student Experience Coordinator (currently filled)
Main point of contact for student/guardian inquiries.
Coordination and communication of program information.
Attend monthly meetings.
As a team leader, mentor, or session facilitator, you agree to the following time commitment:
Meeting Time: Teams meet for 2 hours on a weekly basis.

Other Activities (site visits, final presentation, etc.): Varies
As a speaker, you agree to the following time commitments:
Single Meeting: Presentation delivered during one of the 2-hour team meetings.

To become an active ACE volunteer, you or whomever is interested will need to complete the following steps:
Fill out this form: ACE GTA Mentor Program - Mentor/Volunteer Sign-up Sheet
Complete the online application.
Sign into your account or register as a new Mentor/Volunteer.
Fill out and submit the application.
Complete the mentor training.
Pass a mandatory background check (for new mentors or every 3 years for returning mentors).
After your application has been received and reviewed, you will receive an email inviting you to complete a background check process.
Follow the instructions to complete the background check. There is no charge to you. However, if you would like to financially assist your affiliate, you will be given the option to pay some or all of your background check fee. Payment for the background check is your choice.
Your registration profile will be updated when your background check has been approved.
